StandUpPhilosopher.org is here to serve as a community for those who consider themselves seekers. We welcome contributions from people from all backgrounds and convictions. We encourage participation by believers and skeptics alike. We love truths discovered through the lens of a particular religion, philosophy or tradition.

What We Are Looking to Avoid:

Pure intellectual exercises. Please do not try to compare Nietzsche with Plato. There are places where you can do that, just not here.

Parroting the words of others. We are looking for true revelations and insights. Jesus may have been a great man, but just because one was able to memorize a passage from the Bible, it doesn’t necessarily mean they know what it means.

Inspirational stories. Chicken Soup for the Soul is great at times. However, they can become a means to escape; and, here at SUP we are trying to do the opposite.
